Sofia Mara and Matias Ferreyra teamed up as a Duo in 2009, while studying at the University of Music in Montevideo, Uruguay. Their partnership continued in Europe, as they both studied at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía and the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe, learning from world renowned chamber music artists such as Ralph Gothoni, Márta Gulyás, Udo Reinemann,Wolfgang Rhim, Hartmut Höll, Mitsuko Shirai, among others.

 

They collaborate regularly, performing recitals  in different halls and theaters in Spain, Germany, Austria, United States and Uruguay, as well as in International Music Festivals. Moreover, they were selected by the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Association and the Federal Government of Baden-Würrtemberg to perform in their Concerts Program throughout Germany.

 

Recently, the duo participated in the SongStudio Program hosted by Renée Fleming at the Carnegie Hall in New York, performing in Zankel Hall and Weill Recital Hall.

 

Their Repertoire include a great range of languanges and musical styles such as German Lied, French Chanson, American Songs, Spanish Song and Southameican Music.
